Summer is a good time of the year but that really means Fall is almost here too. I often get myself in a bind when I tell galleries that I will have something for them soon. One year I will say ‘Yes,’ to one gallery and next year ‘Yes,’ to another and boy it can be tricky to keep things straight. I find myself holding on to paintings just a tad longer than normal and make them the best they can be. I have been seeing lots of great work lately, especially by the great masters. Zorn and Bruno Liljefors to name a couple. I then return to my work and really want to infuse my work with a bit of their spirit. My own experiences lead me to the work I do. I think in the future, the future meaning just in the next few months and years I hope to see more figures in my own work. Stylistically not different than the work I do now, you will just have more figures that fit aesthetically and naturally into the paintings. I am planning to be in a few shows at the end of the summer and fall. I will try to update my website and blog more often. Trailside Gallery in Jackson Hole has a few paintings that I did for them for the summer but they are a precursor to the paintings I will have for the Fall. The Buffalo Bill Show in Cody is coming right up too in September as well as the Jackson Hole Art Auction in Jackson again. I will also post more pictures of my travels here soon as well. For now, thanks for reading!
